Home Builds

Project 2012

We are the Harris family. My name is Heather and my husband is Troy. We have 4 children…Hannah, Dakotah, Kaelyn, & Carson.

Our story begins when Lesa Bell was teaching a ladies Bible Study that I attended.

We learned a little about each other through this period of time and as a result she and her family wanted to surprise us with fixing up a few things in our home as a Christmas surprise. When she and her builder, Bill Andreason came by to take a look at our home and assess the needs, they left telling us they would get a game plan together and get back to us.

Project 2015

In 2014, the Hilliard Girlies were looking for a “forever home.” Someplace that would provide security, safety, permanence, and peace for us. When I applied for the Proverbs 19:17 Ministry Home Build, I was a very blessed, single (divorced) mom of two beautiful girls on earth, and one precious daughter in heaven. Cameron at the time I applied was 11, Karis (my heavenly daughter) would have been 6, and Morgan was 5.

Project 2016

My name is Melissa Navarro. I am married to Jesse Navarro and we have two sons Nick and Carson. We are active members of New Harmony Baptist Church and have lived in the New Harmony community most of our lives. Jesse and I have suffered many hardships in the last few years. His job at Goodyear came to an abrupt end and we had to sell our home. He later went to work at Brookshire Grocery Company until recently when he suffered permanent kidney failure and started dialysis.

Project 2017

Our life was not without challenges and hardships though. Brad suffered a frightening seizure the summer of 2015. As scary as that was, the Lord kept him safe. Then, on October 16, 2016, our four-year-old son William had a life-altering accident. While his grandfather mowed, William ran too closely and his left foot was completely severed by the mower blades. He was immediately flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Dallas for surgery. Our family received an incredible outpouring of love and support both from our local church body and our old friends of Denton Bible. As you can imagine, our entire family was thrown into a new world.

Project 2018

Congratulations to the HILL FAMILY as our 2018 Home Recipients! Please help us welcome Nate, LaKenya, and their three children to the Proverbs 19:17 Ministries family!

Contractors have generously agreed to donate their labor and/or materials for the construction of a modest house.

Project 2019

The 2019 Home Run 5k/Kids’ Fun Run isn’t just another “Average Joe 5k.” It’s an opportunity to help provide a deserving, hard working family in our community a safe, modest home. This year, you’ll be helping these lovely ladies – the Moores. This is Melissa and her daughters Mina, Meadow, and Myla. THEY are why you are running and why you should register TODAY!

Our ministry goes much deeper than simply erecting a home. We become personally invested in the lives of those we serve. Please visit our website at www.proverbs1917ministries.org to learn more about how we select families, the services they receive, contractor/supplier opportunities for homebuilds, and how you could become a partner in our ministry.
